Given our election focused so much on opposing viewpoints regarding the role of government and the role of the individual, this topic is very timely. How does America today compare with that created through the Revolution? Would the framers of our Constitution and the authors of our Bill of Rights, and the leaders who expanded and preserved our Union even recognize America today? Is this what they imagined would result? Have we exceeded their expectations? Have we fallen short? Which of our original values have we held true to? Which have we set aside? Imagine two paths diverging in a yellow wood... and that you took the one less traveled, and ran into George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin... or another. (Think time warp). What would you tell them about America today? What might you thank them for?
